DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro - First Impressions After Quick Testing

# DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro - First Impressions After Quick Testing

DJI just dropped the Osmo Action 5 Pro at $349 - that's $50 less than the GoPro Hero 13 Black. But price isn't everything. Here's what the spec sheet promises:

The Specs That Caught My Attention

First Impressions

Here's the thing - specs on paper are one thing. Real-world performance is another. After some initial testing, a few things stood out:

The low-light performance is genuinely better than I expected from an action camera. The larger sensor pulls in more light, and you can actually see the difference in shadow detail when you push the ISO past 1600.

The stabilization is impressive. RockSteady 3.0 does crop your footage by about 10%, but for most use cases, the smooth footage is worth it.

The battery life claim of 4 hours? I haven't done a full drain test yet, but early signs are promising. This is a significant upgrade from previous generations.

Initial Verdict

Too early for a full verdict, but DJI clearly did their homework. The Osmo Action 5 Pro is targeting GoPro directly, and based on initial testing, it's a serious competitor.

Full review with detailed tests coming soon. Watch the quick test above to see the footage quality for yourself.
